सेवा ही जीवन का सार सर्वस्व
हम अपनी भूल से ही पराधीनता में, अभाव में, अशान्ति में, नीरसता में आबद्ध होते हैं । हमें कोई और पराधीन नहीं बनाता, और कोई अभाव में आबद्ध नहीं करता, अशान्ति दूसरे लोगों की दी हुई नहीं है, हमने स्वयं ही अपने जीवन में इन विकारों को उत्पन्न कर लिया है । यदि हम जीवन के इस सत्य को स्वीकार करें तो जो विकार हमने स्वयं उत्पन्न किए हैं, वे सब नाश हो सकते हैं । क्या इस सत्य को स्वीकार करने को हम राजी हैं ? यदि आप राजी हैं तो आपकी साधक संज्ञा हो गई ।
जो सत्य को स्वीकार करता है, वही साधक कहलाता है; वही मानव कहलाता है । जिसमें सत्य को स्वीकार करने की स्वाधीनता ही नहीं है; उस सत्य का बोध ही नहीं है उसकी मानव संज्ञा ही नहीं है, वह प्राणी है । वह भोगयोनी है । वह सुख का भोग करेगा हर्षपूर्वक और उसे दुःख भोगना पड़ेगा, विवश होकर। हम हर्षपूर्वक सुख का भोग करें और विवश होकर हमें दुःख भोगना पड़े यह साधक संज्ञा नहीं है । साधक संज्ञा तभी से आरम्भ होती है, जब से हम जीवन के सत्य को स्वीकार करते हैं।

Service: The only quintessence of life

We are subjected to the other, to want, restiveness and monotony only because of our own fault of inattention. None else subjugates nor binds us to want; restlessness is not thrust on us; we alone have fomented the perversity in our life. If we accept this truth of life, all the self-fomented perversities can be eradicated. Are we willing to admit this truth? You deserve the specification of the sadhaka in case you are willing to admit this truth.
He alone who accepts the truth is called a sadhaka, a human being. None devoid even of the freedom to accept truth, of the mere awareness of it, is a human being; it is just a living being of the origin confined to perception of pleasure and pain. It will enjoy pleasure and suffer pain under compulsion. It is not congruent to the appellation of sadhaka to enjoy pleasure and bear pain under coercion. The name of sadhaka commences only when we accept the truth of life.
